A Pinched Nerve in the Lower Back May Be Treated at Laser Spine Institute

A Pinched Nerve in the Lower Back May Be Treated at Laser Spine Institute

A pinched nerve in your lower back can be immensely painful. The symptoms include tingling, burning and numbness not only at the area where a nerve is actually compressed, but also in the region where that nerve travels. For instance, impinged nerves in the lower back can result in pain in the feet, legs or buttocks. What’s worse, if there is a lot of neural tissue compression and it isn’t treated, it could result in permanent nerve damage, pain, and reduced range of motion. Thankfully, most pinched nerves resolve on their own with time, and the majority of those needing treatment are soothed with simple, conservative techniques.

These techniques include:

  • Stretching
  • Chiropractic care
  • Over-the-counter pain killers
  • Massage
  • Physical therapy
  • Restricted movement
  • Traction
  • Rest

For a very small minority of people, pain will continue after these techniques are tried. If you find yourself in this position, and your doctor has told you there’s nothing that can help, you may want to consider treatment at Laser Spine Institute (LSI). We perform a variety of procedures that carefully remove bone, disc material and other tissue that pinches nerves. All of them utilize endoscopic techniques that minimize trauma to the surrounding tissue. The result is a major reduction in symptoms for the majority of our patients, with a quick recovery time and a minimal amount of scar tissue development.  And, because our procedures are performed in our state-of-the-art surgical centers instead of a hospital, the risk of infection is incredibly low.

If you’d like more information about treating a pinched nerve in your lower back at LSI, contact us today.  We’ll review your CT scan or MRI for free.
